How long should I run my pool equipment each day?
Did you know that you need to run the volume of your pool water through the filter 2 to 2 and a half times a day to achieve adequate filtration?
That means, for a 50,000 litre pool, a pool pump with a capacity of 250 LPM needs to run for 8 to 9 hours a day in the summer months.
How did we work this out?
Pool volume = 50,000 x 2.5 = 125,000
Pumping capacity = 250 LPM x 60 = 15,000 litres per hour
125,000 / 15,000 = 8.3 hours
How many running hours a day does your pool need? You might be surprised!
